Our Executive Team

Keith Sumner
Managing Director

Keith became the Managing Director at Gilpin Travel in 1999. With a wealth of commercial experience, he is known as a knowledgeable, open source of information and a well-respected industry leader, who is often called on to comment on the travel industry. Keith’s favourite thing about his role is working with a high-performance team that not only delivers award-winning, professional service, but also shares his passion for building and maintaining strong customer relationships. His favourite travel destination is the UK, where he has fond memories of driving through Cornwall with his wife to meet up with their son in Cambridge; that and taking the ferry down the Thames to Greenwich. When he’s not working, he’s an avid golfer, tennis player, and loves fishing.

Lisa Sumner
Director

Lisa has been the Finance Director at Gilpin Travel since 1999. Having previously worked as a Lecturer at Manukau Polytechnic, a Business Analyst at Datacom, and a Consultant at Peat Marwick, she has a variety of experience, both in and out of the Travel Industry, which has and continues to prove invaluable when auditing client processes. If savings are there – be it in cost, time, or resources – Lisa is sure to find them! Outside of work, she spends her time with friends, in the garden, and walking her dog on the beach.

Grant Avis
General Manager

Grant joined Gilpin Travel as a Short Haul Consultant in 1995. Over the years, his zeal for delivering a seamless customer experience has seen him involved in all aspects of the company. He is a shareholder, an online expert, and for ten years and counting, he has enjoyed being a manager and mentor to our team of enthusiastic, experienced travel professionals. Grant’s favourite thing about working in the Corporate Travel Industry is the challenge that comes with it. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, something new comes up! His favourite travel destination is Germany and the Rhine Valley - with a special mention to Munich - but he loves any city with plenty of history to dive into. When he’s not working, he enjoys family time, a good BBQ, and working on outdoor home renovations - followed by a cold beer.

Jamie Gray
Sales Manager

Jamie is the Strategic Account Manager here at Gilpin Travel and has been with us since 2018. With a love of building and maintaining strong client relationships, she approaches her work eager to fully understand her client’s business needs and to partner with them in order to tailor solutions best suited to them. Jamie’s favourite thing about working in the Corporate Travel Industry is that there is always something new happening, welcoming new ways to grow and evolve. Her favourite travel destination is most definitely Rome, and when she’s not working, nothing beats a good coffee with friends.
